CITY GOVERNMENT

Lindsay is a Type A General Law Municipality and is governed by the mayor and city council composed of five members elected at large.  The council meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

In February 1964, an engineering firm was hired to survey all of the city’s platted streets and property lines.  The city formed a Planning and Zoning Commission in February, 1966, for the purpose of establishing zoning for residential and commercial use.  The current P&Z Commission is composed of five members appointed by the city council.  They meet of the third Thursday of each month.
