In 1982, the city hired a City Marshall on a part time basis. A patrol car was purchased at that time. Currently the city has one officer who serves as Chief of Police and is on call when needed 24-7. When the city hall is closed citizens can call the Sheriff’s dispatcher which will dispatch the city officer or a sheriff’s deputy as needed. The city council established a municipal court in November 1982. Court currently meets on the second Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m.
